If you are seeking information about aging or disability, community services, public benefits, or you have a need for assistance, the place to call is our Information and Referral Department. You’ll gain access to an Information and Referral Specialist, specifically trained and prepared by experience to be knowledgeable about a wide range of services and programs for the elderly, disabled and their caregivers. This service is free of charge and available to everyone.
The I&R Specialists maintain a current computerized directory with information about local, state and national resources. They will listen to questions, determine the type of information or assistance needed and connect you to resources designed to meet your needs. Several options may be offered. We will even research questions for which there is no readily available answer. More importantly, we will follow up to see if you have obtained the information or service you were seeking and advocate to help you do so. We can screen to see if you are eligible for public benefit programs and we will refer you to any of the Montachusett Home Care Corporation’s services or programs for which you may qualify.
Primarily a telephone service, we also welcome walk-ins, written, faxed or e-mailed questions. A TTY machine is available for hearing impaired callers and we can accommodate non- English speaking callers with AT&T’s Language Line.
