Montachusett Home Care Corporation establisheds Community Foundation Fund
Leominster_Montachusett Home Care Corporation of Leominster has established an unrestricted Montachusett Home Care Corporation Fund at the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, Executive Director Margaret Woovis recently announced.
The fund was created with the $10,000 Marilyn E. Plue award granted to Ms. Woovis for her dedicated service on the Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts’ board, which she donated to the agency and directors approved being used to set up the Community Foundation Fund.
The fund will be maintained and controlled by MHCC’s Board of Directors and used for whatever the agency deems necessary and the board approves for spending.
Ms. Woovis explained having the fund under the Community Foundation gives MHCC a mechanism for future donations and advertising through them for its cause. The fund would also have a higher rate of return under the Community Foundation than elsewhere. It could also provide a means for bequests or death benefits from donors, which would in turn be used for future needs of elders and disabled individuals in MHCC’s 21-community catchment area.
MHCC is a not for profit organization whose mission it is to help elders and disabled adults remain independent in their homes in safety, comfort, and dignity.
